Leicester, day # 1

SAMSUNGWe were right on time in Leicester. The room wasn’t ready yet, so we decided to leave our suitcases in the hotel’s reception area and walked into the center, only a few minutes walk from the hotel (Holiday Inn).
There is a festival going on this week in Leicester, so there is plenty to see. But not just festival stuff, Leicester has also some very nice -and old- architecture, some in Tudor style.

SAMSUNGSAMSUNGSAMSUNGWe see this wall from our bedroom window. It’s is called the Jewry Wall, a leftover from the Roman ages of Leicester. Must visit the museum this week.

WallIn the evening we ate a lovely meal at Zizzi’s. I had a so-called “skinny pizza”, which means it was less than 500 calories. Now I’ll be thin. Yeah, right.
Zizzi pizzaAs I mentioned, there was/is a festival going on in Leicester. Lots of -weird- things to see.
PiggySAMSUNGSAMSUNGSAMSUNGAt 9 pm there was a terrific free show, called “Safe House”. It is a bit difficult to explain what it was about, but basically it was about turning your house into a home. A house is a just bricks, but a home is so much more than that. The show involved loud, very loud, music, animation and people running and dancing on the walls. It was truly an amazing show. If this show comes to your city go see. Really. It got dark very quickly so it was hard to take good pictures (with my mobile ….).

Edit to add: I have lots of problems over here with my internet connection. Can’t read my e-mail and it took me ages to post this blog. So I’ll respond to any mail and/or comment when I get home. Have a nice day, I am off now to do some more sight-seeing and shampoo shopping!
